PG-13 Advanced Level 3 Photo Shoot

Experience one of the most creative and visually dramatic photography techniques in modern studio photography — Vertical Photography.

In this unique hands-on photo shoot participants will create the illusion of floating, falling, levitation, and suspended motion by photographing subjects from directly overhead. Working from a specially constructed elevated platform, photographers will shoot straight down onto elaborate themed sets built on the studio floor.

Participants will not simply photograph the scenes — they will also collaborate in the creative process by helping design and build the sets before shooting begins. This workshop combines:

  • Studio lighting
  • Conceptual photography
  • Set design
  • Creative posing
  • Perspective manipulation
  • Storytelling through imagery

The resulting photographs create surreal cinematic images that appear to defy gravity and place subjects into dreamlike environments.

The workshop will feature:

  • Two fully designed photographic sets
  • Live models
  • Overhead shooting platform access
  • Lighting instruction and setup discussion
  • Creative direction and posing techniques
  • Opportunities for dramatic portfolio images unlike traditional portraits

Important Physical Requirement

Participants must be physically able to climb a ladder to access the elevated shooting platform. Photographers will lie flat on the platform and photograph downward through a shooting opening above the set.

This is an exciting opportunity to explore a highly creative style of photography rarely available in traditional workshops and produce truly unforgettable images.
