Returning to a location you’ve already photographed can feel like you’re simply repeating yourself. But in reality, it’s one of the most powerful ways to grow as a photographer.
When you’ve already captured the “expected” image, something changes. You’re no longer chasing the obvious—you’re free to explore.
This is where intentional photography begins.
With each return visit, you start to see differently. You notice how light transforms a scene throughout the day. You become aware of subtle seasonal shifts in color and texture. You begin to isolate details—a tighter composition, a quieter moment—that may have gone unnoticed before.
Familiarity, when approached with intention, is not limiting—it’s liberating.
This month’s challenge is simple:
Revisit a place you’ve photographed before—and create something new.
Push beyond the obvious. Slow down. Look deeper.
That’s where your best work lives.
