Studio Lighting Master Class – Session Two

Session 1 10AM – Noon Limit 6 students
Session 2 1PM – 3PM Limit 6 students

Multiple Lights. Motion. Mystery.

Ready to take the next step?

The second session of the Studio Lighting Master Class moves beyond the fundamentals and into the art of building light—layer by layer.

And yes… there will be a mystery model.

What You’ll Learn

In this session, we will explore how to control and shape light using a complete multi-light setup, including:

  • Main Light – establishing direction and mood
  • Fill Light – controlling shadow detail
  • Background Light – separating subject from background
  • Backlight – adding depth and dimension
  • Hair Light (when appropriate) – defining edges and highlights

You will learn how each light contributes to the final image—and how to balance them with intention.

LED to Strobe – Understanding Both Worlds

We will build every setup in two stages:

  1. Continuous LED Lighting
    • See the light in real time
    • Understand placement, ratios, and effect
  2. Studio Strobes
    • Translate the same setup into flash
    • Learn power control and light shaping with strobes

This approach gives you a clear understanding of both systems—and how to use each effectively.

Motion & Light

We will also introduce creative techniques using light and time:

  • Blurred Motion using continuous light
  • Stop Action using strobe lighting

You’ll see how shutter speed and flash duration can dramatically change the way motion is captured.

Small Group. Hands-On Learning.

Each session is limited to 6 students, ensuring:

  • Individual attention
  • Time to shoot
  • Real feedback and guidance

This Is Where It Comes Together

This session is where lighting starts to make sense—not as individual pieces, but as a complete system you control.

Add in a mystery model, and you have a dynamic, real-world shooting experience designed to challenge and inspire.

Learn with intention. Create with Purpose.
